Born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, Guillem Rovira started learning painting techniques from his uncle, Mariano Vigas, at his studio at the age of 17.
Since 2012, Rovira has been based in Vancouver, Canada, where he had numerous illustration and graphic design commissions from local businesses. Some of them are: The Bibo restaurant, Salida 7, and Story Telling festival. At the same time, he has participated in numerous group exhibitions showcasing his personal works: Ayden Gallery (Monsters & Robots), Fall Art Gallery (I Heart You), Hot Art Wet City Gallery (XOXO group art show), among others.
Vancouver is one of the main Visual Effects industry hubs. Rovira has been trained and started working as a Digital Matte Painter since 2015 until now. Some of the movies that he had participated in are: Start Trek Beyond, Fast and Furious 8, Assassins Creed, Zoolander 2 and Ghostbusters 2016,
Nowadays, besides working as an Illustrator and Digital Matte Painter, Rovira is also teaching Concept art and Matte Painting at La Salle International College in downtown Vancouver.
